Iraqi Parliament Member Shadows Rep. Solis

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (CA-32), Democratic Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues, was shadowed by an Iraqi woman, who is a member of the parliament in the Transitional National Assembly of Iraq. 

Faiza Jabar Mohamed Babakhan is in Washington, D.C. as a part of the 11-member delegation of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women delegation. The visit coincides with International Women’s Day.

Throughout the day Congresswoman Solis and Mohamed Babakhan had an opportunity to exchange ideas on how the role of women can be enhanced in Iraq and to discuss the most prevalent issues impacting women around the world.
