| Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (CA-32), Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues and Chair of the Democratic Women’s Working Group, will commemorate National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by recognizing four outstanding organizations for their commitment to ending domestic violence.
The four organizations to be recognized are: Chicana Service Action Center, the Chinatown Service Center, the San Gabriel Valley YWCA WINGS program, and the Violence Intervention Program (V.I.P.). These organizations provide services, counseling and support to victims of domestic violence in the 32nd Congressional District.
Congresswoman Solis led the effort to renew the Violence Against Women Act and authored two provisions in the law which help immigrants and women of color who are victims of domestic violence.
