Dear Friends:
Each year Congress considers providing limited financial assistance to projects and programs which improve communities across the United States. I am committed to helping communities in California’s 32nd Congressional District access these funds for projects which strengthen our local infrastructure and improve our health, educational and public safety services. Although I cannot guarantee that the projects I support will receive funding, I have been successful securing federal assistance for road improvements in Duarte, upgrades to Covina’s public safety radio networks, and many other important projects in our communities.
If you have projects that you would like to be considered for possible federal funding assistance, please contact Megan Uzzell of my staff at (202) 225-5464 or megan.uzzell@mail.house.gov to obtain an Appropriations Request Worksheet. The worksheet must be completed and emailed as an attachment to solis@mail.house.gov or faxed to (202) 225-5467 by close of business Friday, February 16, 2007. Please be sure to follow the enclosed instructions for completing the worksheet. If you have any questions about this form, please do not hesitate to contact Megan Uzzell. For your records, you will receive notification upon receipt of the request by my office.
In addition to helping secure Congressionally-approved federal funds, I can provide letters of support for grant applications submitted directly by your organization to federal agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. For more information about federal grant opportunities or how to obtain a letter of support, please contact Nicole Shahenian in my El Monte District Office at (626) 448-1271 or visit my website at www.house.gov/solis.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you to improve communities in California’s 32nd Congressional District.
Sincerely,
HILDA L. SOLIS
Member of Congress
